excellent walking access to york's major attractions

We stayed here last weekend, and I absolutely loved how close it was to York's City Walls and the beautiful York Museum Gardens, making it so easy for us to explore on foot and truly soak in the city’s charm. plus, it was just a short stroll to delicious dining options like the Garden of India, perfect for winding down after a day of sightseeing.

This was an optimal selection for a quick layover in York with high value for money. The staff were incredibly accommodating, even upgrading our room unexpectedly, which made our stay more pleasant. Make sure to ask the team for any special amenities they might offer during your visit.

the novotel has a great location, only a 15-minute walk to the city centre. our superior queen room was spotlessly clean, with a comfy bed and a clean bathroom. the parking was excellent, allowing us to keep the car until midnight, adding to our stay. the indoor pool is also a nice bonus.

The restaurant's pizza lunchtime offer was a highlight, and the afternoon tea was superb. I found the car park convenient despite the tight spots. Would definitely return!

The location is fantastic, just a short walk to the heart of the city, making it ideal for visiting York Minster and other attractions. The room was spacious and clean, but sadly, the carpet had noticeable stains which detracted from the modern vibe. The staff really stood out, especially a young woman during breakfast who was attentive and friendly, making our mornings enjoyable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay. The kids loved their little welcome toys! The room was spacious, equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast was superb with endless choices. Make sure to explore nearby attractions, as everything is a pleasant walk away!

I loved the lovely location by the river! Perfect for strolling into town. However, the pool was closed. that was a letdown. Overall, a good stay! 🙂

The kids loved the play area in the bar, and we enjoyed family dinners at the hotel restaurant, which had a fantastic menu. Plus, the location is a perfect spot for a quick stroll along the river into York's city center. We spent a lovely day at the York Racecourse and it was truly a highlight!

My kids wished for better room upkeep. we found the sofa bed's linens lacking.

The location of the hotel is perfect, very close to the Barbican, making it convenient for our plans. The room was spacious with a comfy sofa, which was a nice addition. I appreciated the cleanliness of the bathroom and the promptness of room service. The breakfast had a variety of healthy options, which I enjoyed. However, there were several issues that impacted my stay. The air conditioning barely worked, leaving the room a bit too warm. The lift situation was frustrating since only one was operating, and the staircase looked worn out. I also faced slow service in the restaurant and even sat at a wet seat at one point. It seemed like the hotel was still undergoing renovations after three years, which was disappointing since this was my second visit.

The bar and restaurant really hit the spot—delicious cheese sandwiches and a cozy vibe. Plus, the location had us strolling to local gems like Atithi for some spicy Indian flavors!

While we expected to dive into the pool, we faced a not-so-great surprise of it being out of order. Also, the central heating pipes decided to join the party, making our night less than chill.
